 The Spear is designed as two linked buildings to offer corner exposures, cross ventilation and exciting views in nearly every apartment. Serving as the Spear's visual focus, a sculptural covered driveway frames the spectacular entrance and extends along the axis of the lobby, linking its front to a veranda facing the water. The light-filled lobbySpear Lobby features contemporary furniture and art. On the ground floor, two-level loft residences have private patios. Penthouses have large spaces with high ceilings and wrap-around balconies. The Spear faces the landscaped neighborhood square on one side, and the island waterside promenade on the other.

Alison Spear, A.I.A., a renowned designer of stylish spaces, is a licensed architect and the principal of her firm in New York City and Miami, Florida. She graduated from Cornell University in 1982 with a Bachelor of Architecture degree and from Columbia University with a Master of Science in Architecture and Urban Design in 1984. She is a member of the American Institute of Architects, the New York Architectural League and the National Council of Registration Boards.
Recently, the firm received an American Institute of Architects Award of Excellence for the Holly Hunt Showroom in Miami. Her design work, both architectural and interior, has been featured in numerous magazines internationally. She has taught at the Parsons School of Design and been a visiting critic at various institutions. Currently, Alison Spear and her firm are working on several projects in both New York and Miami. |
