Biscayne Landing is a $1 billion mixed-used residential community being developed in joint venture with Boca Developers of Deerfield Beach, Florida. The Biscayne Landing project broke ground in January 2003 and is one of the most significant urban redevelopment projects in South Florida's history.
Situated on 190-acres in the heart of North Miami, Biscayne Landing will be master planned around a town center and consist of approximately 5,000 condominium apartments. Amenities in Biscayne Landing will include multiple club houses, pools and tennis courts along with a 35-acre park featuring jogging trails, picnic areas, a children's playground and more. The 100,000 square foot town center will feature restaurants and retail stores. A five-acre hotel and conference center at Biscayne Landing will be for local and City use and for joint programs with neighboring Florida International University. A local charter school will also be developed adjacent to the Biscayne Landing Project.
Biscayne Landing stretches from 137th Street to 151st Street along Biscayne Bay and is a public/private venture in cooperation with the City of North Miami.
Swerdlow Group was the successful bidder in the City of North Miami RFP for development of the site and plans to commence construction in January 2003 following the completion of a long-term lease with the City. The Biscayne Landing project will be on the largest piece of undeveloped land east of I-95 in Miami- Dade and Broward counties and will be one of the most significant urban redevelopment projects in South Florida's history. Biscayne Landing is a 2,000-acre preserve currently being developed into a master-planned community in North Miami, Florida. It will encompass approximately 6,000 high-rise condominiums and townhome residences in a lush, tropical setting.
Designed with families in mind, Biscayne Landing will have its own elementary school, grades kindergarten through eighth grade. It will have a charter high school, (a public school but smaller class sizes and some specialized course offerings, in this case, in marine biology). Because of the proximity to Florida International University, children who live in Biscayne Landing will be able to receive all of their schooling without ever even getting into a school bus.
Biscayne Landing is being developed by two prominent Florida developers, Swerdlow Group and Boca Developers. The land is the last large undeveloped property in South Florida and, because of its many amenities, will most certainly be a one-of-a-kind community.
Ground was broken on Biscayne Landing in January 2003. Building of the entire development is expected to take approximately 10 years. Available now at pre-construction pricing are condominiums of all sizes and townhomes.
