In an effort to eliminate its net debt, Magna Entertainment Corp. may sell its joint venture interest in the Village at Gulfstream Park. Magna had been teamed up with Forest City Enterprises to develop the mixed-use project that will eventually have 1,500 condos, 750,000 square feet of retail space, 140,000 square feet of office space, a 500-room hotel and a 2,500-seat movie theater. There will also be 225 affordable housing units built on or nearby Gulfstream Park.
Hopefully this means that the Village at Gulfstream Park will move forward at a brisk pace once it is sold. This is one of the most eagerly anticipated projects to hit the Aventura / Hallandale area in many years, and this just adds a little more anticipation to the mix. Everyone in the Aventura / Hallandale will be keeping a close watch on this development for good news. If you have any questions regarding this project, please feel free to call me at 786-586-4778.
