A new report out from two well respected South Florida researchers shows that the world’s oceans are in fact warming, but a side effect of the warming means fewer hurricanes due to increased wind shear. Interestingly, the researchers found that warmer temperatures in the tropical Atlantic decrease wind shear, while warmer temperatures in the tropical Pacific and Indian oceans increase shear – but the winds produced over the Pacific and Indian oceans are most important.
